Introduction

Hon.Shri Annasaheb Dange Ayurvedic Medical College and PG Research center,Ashta  and Dhanwantari Hospital was established in the year 1999 with permission from the Government of Maharashtra, Central Council of Indian Medicine [C.C.I.M.] and Dept of AYUSH, Ministry of health and family welfare, New Delhi, India. This is the foremost Ayurved College in Maharashtra where the medium of instruction is Marathi as well as English with an intake capacity of 100 students of UG and 64 students of PG. We intend to contribute for enhancing performance through constructing the new building for organization &coordination

Ayurved, which literally means "the science of life", is the natural healing system used throughout India. Ayurved was originally known to have been first developed and established by the great sages who developed Indiaʹs original systems of meditation and Yoga. The study of Ayurved includes herbal medicine, dietetics, body work, surgery, psychology and spirituality. It not only deals with medical science, but also with the social, ethical, intellectual, and spiritual life of human being. In recent years a more science-savvy take on Ayurved has spread to distant parts of the world where it has begun to flourish alongside other holistic, patient oriented, natural, non-invasive medical system. At ADAMC  and Research Institute & Hospital the students are exposed to all these wonderful opportunity of Ayurved health science. The Institute had started specialize courses MD/MS in one subject from academic year 2008-09 and also we have received permission to run PG courses now in twelve subjects from academic year 2013-14.

The College building is a masterpiece of architecture basks in fine aesthetics and is very impressive. It has a beautiful statue of Lord Dhanvantari at entrance which is the god of health and imparts a serene  and peaceful feelings in those who walk in.

With a view to make available enormous opportunities for the rural masses in higher and medical education, Honorable Shri Annasaheb Dange, a social reformer in true sense, vowed to establish an ambitious project of an Ayurvedic Medical college at this interior, but a well connected place Ashta. Annasaheb Dange Ayurved Medical College (ADAMC), Ashta has been established in the year 1999 by Sant Dnyaneshwar Shikshan Sanstha. The institute started initially with B.A.M.S course.

With its dedicated faculty, staff and sincere efforts of students put together the institute has earned good reputation in the Maharashtra state. This fact was undoubtedly established by the first rank achieved by Miss. Swapnaja Deshpande student from 1st batch in 2nd year BAMS Examination conducted by MUHS Nashik in November 2002. The enviable features of these results were that overall result was about 92%. The success is still more noteworthy as it has been consistently maintained by all the successive batches. Also there is remarkable percentage of distinction students in every university examinations.

At the end of Program, students will:

1.     Understand the meaning and application of Ayurvedic Medical Quality Education to serve the humanity with holistic approach.

2.     Apply ethical standards of behaviour and knowledge of legal responsibilities to professional Ayurvedic practice.

3.     Develop skill in Ayurvedic profession, as surgeon, academician, and researcher to promote Ayurvedic system of treatment.

4.     Enumerate the capacity for continuous self-education and further learnings in their respective fields of Ayurveda.

5.     Have appropriate skills, attitude, communication skills, and responsible clinical care within their professional limitations to work in multidisciplinary team and to motivation to contribute the advancement of medical and scientific knowledge.

6.     Have awareness regarding Ayurvedic wellness programme and likewise its applicability to lead healthy life with harmony.
